Outside, one hour.
It has warmed to near 40 degrees, so it was time break the boredom of riding in the basement... with the spiders. A little windy, sunny and quiet:
And salty> Sligo creek was like a Vermont back road. The salt trucks dispatched by Montgomery County ("MoCo") deposited hundreds of pounds of salt per square yard of road. It was like a Bolivian salt mine:
...pummeling the the 0.8" of snow that we've received this month into oblivion. MoCo gets an A for effort, and a C- for efficiency. Sorry MoCo.
I have not ridden 16 times this year. So, has the purpose of this effort been lived up to? Is something smugly, naively or foolishly called a year in the saddle as success when its efforts will not sum to a year? The answers are yes. Before starting this series of posts, I had not ridden since July. Now, I've ridden 8 times in twice as many days. Not bad.
